The companies successfully launched Family Guardian service for senior independent living in 2017.
Medical Guardian, a leading provider of Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), and Essence, a global provider of IoT, cloud-based connected living solutions, jointly won the 2017 IoT Evolution Business Impact Award after successfully driving business growth and displaying market leadership with the launch of the Family Guardian. Family Guardian is an in-home system offering comprehensive activity monitoring of seniors to caregivers from afar, based on Essence’s award-winning IoT-based solution, Care@Home™ Family Home Monitoring system for seniors.
The IoT Evolution Business Impact Award presented by TMC and Crossfire Media recognized a select group of companies and business leaders who have successfully leveraged IoT to solve a business issue, launch a new service, or create revenue opportunities.
The Care@Home Family is part of Essence’s Care@Home multi-service aging-in-place product suite that offers a seamless home monitoring experience, allowing independence for seniors and peace of mind for their loved ones. The customizable Care@Home Family allows loved ones to be kept aware of their relatives’ well-being by being alerted of specific daily events.
“Receiving this prestigious award is truly an honor and speaks to our dedication in providing some of the most advanced connected health solutions available today,” said Geoff Gross, founder and CEO of Medical Guardian. “With the rapid expansion of data analytics across the healthcare industry, we’re thrilled to be recognized as a front runner, leveraging information to help older Americans continue living a life without limits. That’s the core of everything we do at Medical Guardian.”
Essence and Medical Guardian have been partners since 2014. Essence’s advanced senior monitoring technologies track residents and provide automatic alerts in emergency situations, taking the burden of care away from the elderly and affords them a higher level of safety. By integrating this technology, Medical Guardian strengthens its position of innovation and market leadership in the PERS market.
“Medical Guardian and Essence have been long-term partners in the process to encourage independent living in the senior community,” says Yaniv Amir, President, Essence USA. “The addition of the Care@Home Family to its product offerings means its clients are able to live independently longer and demonstrates the value of innovation in telecare to enhance quality of life and simultaneously increase business opportunities.”
The award was presented to the Essence and Medical Guardian during the IoT Evolution Expo on Wednesday, July 19 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
“The opportunity within IoT in business continues to transform productivity, and we are delighted to highlight Essence and Medical Guardian’s success in deploying IoT,” said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, executive director of content, IoT Evolution. “We congratulate them and recognize that there are more and more opportunities in the enterprise being solved by IoT every day.”
